Election News
Special Election: On December 11, 2007, a special election was held in Congressional District 5. Due to the passing of former Congressman Paul Gilmore, Ohioans had an opportunity to elect, Robin Weirauch, a Democratic candidate for Congress who represents the voice of working families. Many labor unions, community members, and Working America staff from our Federation participated in a GOTV effort to elect Robin Weirauch through phone banking. This was her third time running for the Congressional seat. Unfortunately, Robin got 43% of the vote, with a total of 1450 votes, while Republican Bob Latta received 57% of the vote, with a total of 1674 votes. Thanks to the many unions, leaders, and activists who worked so hard on behalf of Robin.
